Sí, es él - Yes, it's him

Y vaya disco.

From my perspective, the best album since he set out over a decade ago with the glorious Guapapasea! That southern states cool and relaxed drive permeates through and through. From New Orleans to country blues and soul, and reminiscent of Dr John, JJ Cale, and the Pointer Sisters in one!

We’ve been trying for days to send out one of our legendary http://foed.es/cialis/ newsletters, but we just couldn’t compete Esperanza Aguirre and her Soviets, the indies and the Eurovision Song Contest. However, this morning we woke up feeling like the world is our oyster, so we said to hell with “what will people say”.

Gecko Turner has a new album out. And what an album it is! After years of giving off warnings about it being around the corner, That Place By The Thing With The Cool Name, as it’s called, is hella fantastic. The record is getting loads of great reactions and has already been played by Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles on BBC radio, and by the legendary Mr. Jesús Bombín on Spain’s Radio 3. We loved what Afrobase’s John Warr had to say about the album:

From my perspective, the best album since he set out over a decade ago with the glorious Guapapasea! That southern states cool and relaxed drive permeates through and through. From New Orleans to country blues and soul, and reminiscent of Dr John, JJ Cale, and the Pointer Sisters in one!

Anyways, instead of losing more precious time with all this shameless self-promotion, we suggest you pay a visit to your local record dealer or, if you’re more of the digitally inclined, our fabulous online store, to get your hands on a copy.
Soon we’ll have a fantastic video shot in Mexico City, and some not-too-shabby remixes. So, as said, cop that sh*t before the bolsheviks shut the whole country down.

In other news, if you happen to be in Madrid, Spain this Friday, Señorlobo will be playing some tunes the young people will enjoy, in the Housemusicallnightlong vein, at the La Palma venue alongside Aitor Madrid. It’s going to be one of those crazy sweaty sole-burning nights, so don’t miss out!
