We don't say this enough, but it's amazing how nice our artists are. We say they're musical geniuses all the time, but blimey, they really are great people. We're very lucky. Granted, it would be great if we could a buck or two as well selling rekkids, but you can't have it all, now Kanye? On he other hand, those Google people are making shitloads of money, which, if we have to believe the media, is what it's all about, so we shouldn't complain. No, really.
The great Chip Wickham is rallying the troops to get ready for the presentation of La Sombra at the Beat Club in Segovia on 23 March and Clamores in Madrid on the 25th. Furthermore, the Clamores gig will be hosted by Lovemonk and Enlace Funk, home of all things funk, soul, Latin and hip-hop, who will present their issue 55 featuring an interview with Chip and and him on the cover! After that, Chip's hopping on a plane to Great Britain to tour with Matthew Halsall and introduce the London masses to his LP with his own crew and special guest Matthew Halsall. Londoners, take note: 11 May at the Archspace.
Meanwhile, back in the homeland, Forastero will climb onto the Beat Club stage this very Saturday, 18 Feb, during the Winter Indie City festival in wonderful Segovia. Moby Dick in Madrid is up next, on 16 March, celebrating the venue's 25th anniversary. If you want to know what sound like live, check this performance on the Oh! My LOL radio show a couple of weeks ago.
